What can you expect:
Marsh is seeking a Specialist – The Claims Advocacy team provides specialised insurance claims services to clients and prospects of Marsh.
We are now looking to grow and develop the current suite of Claims Advocacy services in Ireland to include the new role of FINPRO Claims Advocate.
FINPRO claims is a specialist resource function providing additional client support for Professional and Financial Product Lines (incl. Professional Indemnity, Crime, Management Liability, D&O and Employment Practice Liability).
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of claims from initial notification through to settlement, working closely with clients, insurers, and internal teams. You will be responsible for developing claim strategies, coordinating with external partners such as loss adjusters and legal advisors, and advocating for clients to achieve appropriate outcomes within policy terms. You will also support complex claims and disputes, ensuring clear documentation and escalation where necessary.

Key objectives
The successful candidate will have responsibility for maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders from our most important clients as well as establishing close working relationships with Marsh client managers, FINPRO colleagues, Marsh Europe peers, claims colleagues and the executive team.
- Assess support requests to establish the value of appointing an advocate.
- Negotiate terms of engagement and revenue opportunities.
- Oversee the overall claims process on appointed cases in conjunction with the nominated claims advisor.
- Provide technical support and advice to the client on the nominated claims.
- Consult with and challenge Insurers on coverage issues should such situations arise.
- Organise and/or participate in claims meetings and client calls as required.
- Compile claims and management information reports as required.
- Supports, assists and provides guidance to claims colleagues.
- Communicates with clients, colleagues, third parties or insurers on an ad hoc basis to receive status updates, information requests, instructions or query resolution; may also provide advice to clients on common FINPRO claims topics.
- Take responsibility for a revenue growth target, manage opportunities and track progress.
We will rely on you to:
- Delivers Risk Management advice to improve client competencies in mitigating the cost, the risk and the impact of claims.
- Promotes Claims product suite to business and Clients.
- Support Marsh in achieving expanded revenue targets.
- Ensure compliance with all operational processes.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous personal development and secure recognized professional qualifications.
- Action opportunities referred by client managers and prepare Statement of Work.
- Identification and delivery of opportunities to enhance client’s claim cost reduction and prevention strategies.
- Management of workload to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Support new business and defensive work as required.
- Use of claims product suite to add value for clients and generate expanded revenue.
- Attendance at meetings with Clients to discuss potential project opportunities or to discuss claims cost reduction initiatives as required.
- Develop relationships with key Marsh Panel Insurers.
- Identify and develop opportunities for revenue generation from new and existing client relationships.
- Produce Claims marketing collateral and thought leadership articles.
- Host Client facing events with focus on key claims issues and thought leadership.
- Work with clients and Marsh colleagues to develop new and expanded business opportunities.
What you will need to have:
- Detailed understanding of Financial Lines claims processes incl. Professional Indemnity, Crime, Cyber, Management Liability, D&O and Employment Practice Liability.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a financial lines claims environment, with a broker, solicitor or insurer.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong understanding of the ROI commercial insurance market and processes.
- Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Experience of assisting clients/policyholders with commercial claims cost reduction, process improvements and/or claims trends.
- Ability to work toward and meet targets set by the business, in order to support clients and drive profitability.
- Ability to write and deliver compelling project output reports to drive client satisfaction.
- Project Management experience.
What makes you stand out:
- 5+ years insurance claims experience, including handling complex or high-value claims.
- Experience preparing and presenting claims experience reporting and insights for renewal/claims review meetings.
- Experience coordinating with external vendors (adjusters/legal) and managing contentious matters.
- MDI / ACII qualification.
- Demonstrated coaching/mentoring capability and/or prior people leadership experience (where applicable to the role).
