Job Description
Reporting relationships
Reports to: Senior Associate
Supervises: N/A
Primary functions & responsibilities
The Associate will work in the Asian Credit group, and the incumbent will handle a certain distinct allocated list of investments and shall perform the following activities for that account.
Asset Management
- Primary responsibility is to monitor the assigned private credit and/or structured equity investments
- Prepare periodic monitoring memo and maintain financial models for assigned investments.
- Collaborate with the deal team on quarterly valuation exercises and expected cash flow modelling for assigned investments.
- Undertake valuation of investments, assess and update valuation methodologies as investments evolve through their lifecycle, and draft valuation commentaries and supporting reports in conjunction with portfolio managers.
- Support ad hoc requests, including but not limited to - supporting the deal team in parts for the new deal analysis, data initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Ensure data integrity across various systems and reporting processes, including troubleshooting data-related issues and discrepancies.
- Collaborate and develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across Asset Management, Investment Teams, Finance, Operations, Legal and Compliance.
Investor Relations
- Produce monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting materials for investors, working closely with Asset Management and Finance teams to collate relevant information.
- Support the Investor Relations team in responding to investor questionnaires, due diligence requests and ad hoc information requests from existing and prospective investors.
- Assist in the preparation and review of investor presentations and portfolio-related reporting materials.
Qualifications
Education:
- Education: CA / MBA
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of experience.
General Requirements:
- Advanced MS Excel modeling skills
- Intermediate MS PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge and experience of corporate debt structure and leverage loans is a plus.
- Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment
- Creative problem solver – Ability to work through kinks in a process as opposed to getting stuck.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate direct and succinct statuses on projects and deliverables
