JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, this position supports the assigned department and programs. Duties include performing routine clerical functions, answering the phone, greeting students, faculty, staff, and the public, assisting with walk-in participants, providing support for required documentation requirements, and supporting tours and recruiting events. The position also supports using a database and/or software for student application, selection, admission, registration, and clinical placement in a Division of IRSC.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists staff, faculty, and students with clerical needs.
- Answers phone calls, emails, and other inquiries into the nursing divisions' program offerings.
- Assists student application process.
- Organizing, monitoring, and maintaining a database system for Nursing student documents.
- Maintaining inventory of department office supplies, laboratory supplies, and laptops and submitting a requisition for supplies as needed.
- Manage, revise, and update marketing and recruitment documents, websites, and handbooks to project school requirements and guidelines.
- Coordinate and participate in recruiting events related to nursing.
- Setting up for college tours, student practice, and student testing.
- Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree desired);
- one (1) year of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Knowledge of database system functions and educational software.
- Knowledge of general office functions, bookkeeping, and chart of accounts.
- Knowledge of the needs of disadvantaged students.
- Skill in organizing, filing, managing time, and prioritizing.
- Skill in working with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications and operating various office machines.
- Skill in providing customer service.
- Ability to be accurate and detailed oriented, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, multi-task, and work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, we determine that he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
