🚨What You’ll Be Doing
As a Material Handler, you’ll help keep production running efficiently by ensuring injection molding presses and blenders have a constant supply of raw materials and supplies. You’ll also support inventory control, scrap management, equipment operation, and daily production reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a consistent flow of raw materials and supplies to injection molding presses and blenders.
- Monitor silo levels and coordinate Gaylord deliveries while completing all required documentation.
- Operate a forklift to safely transport scrap bins, partially completed Gaylords, raw materials, and other goods throughout the facility.
- Assist the Scheduler with recording scrap quantities and maintaining accurate material inventory levels.
- Separate and monitor the granulation of material from surge bins.
- Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting on loading system equipment.
- Identify and direct non-conforming material to the appropriate designated area.
- Follow all work guidance sheets, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) procedures, and quality alerts.
- Accurately record and report required production data to maintain daily production records and provide information to the Production Manager for entry into the data collection system.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities and processes may change.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have demonstrated computer skills and the ability to accurately enter and maintain production information.
- Understand and follow quality, safety, and work-process requirements.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Be willing to learn new processes, equipment, and procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or material-handling environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and moving raw materials, scrap, and production supplies.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 (TS16949) and ISO requirements.
- Experience with inventory, scrap tracking, or production documentation.
- Ability to perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshoot loading-system equipment.
