We are currently seeking intern/co-op candidates to learn with us as they engage in a variety of hands-on projects alongside our high-performing and authentic R&D team.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineering Co-op (R&D Sustaining) will support the engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving currently marketed products. This role provides hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams to investigate product issues, support manufacturing and quality initiatives, evaluate design changes, and maintain engineering documentation. The intern will perform engineering tasks under the guidance and mentorship of experienced engineers while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. This Mechanical Engineering Co-op (R&D Sustaining) will:
Support sustaining engineering efforts by evaluating product design, test methods, and process capabilities to ensure consistency and compliance.
Assist with test fixture design, troubleshooting, and qualification of test methods to support product verification and validation.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product performance, reliability, and manufacturability while optimizing costs.
Technical data analysis to support test methods and continuous improvement.
Recommend appropriate staffing levels to support manufacturing requirements; define and generate all required documentation in support of manufacturing products and processes, including engineering protocols and reports.
Training to be Provided
Students will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT). They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products.
Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree student with a sophomore or junior level class standing
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Biomedical, Engineering Mechanics, or a related concentration.
Minimum 2.8 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the future
Able to participate full-time (40 hours/week)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently with team members from various disciplines, e.g., operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, etc.
Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Technical writing skills, ability to develop protocols and reports to qualify design changes.

Term/Hours
Spring/Summer of 2027 start, 2-3 semester rotation, can be consecutive or non-consecutive semesters. January start dates are preferred, but other start dates will be considered.
Hours: 40 hours per week
Compensation & Total Rewards:
Estimated Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00/hour
*Estimated Starting Pay Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position. The range provided is based on compensation and market data specific to the position.
