Overview
The Technical Trainer develops and delivers technical training programs that ensure employees work safely, effectively, and in compliance within a chemical manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager at the Taunton site, this role supports onboarding, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while helping drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for production employees, covering safety, chemical processes, equipment operation, automation systems, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Create and maintain training materials, SOP-based content, and competency assessments.
- Coordinate classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training with department leaders and subject matter experts.
- Coach and mentor employees to become effective trainers and support workforce development.
- Maintain training records and support regulatory and compliance audits.
- Assess employee competency and recommend development plans to strengthen technical expertise across all production shifts.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma.
- Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline will be a plus.
Experience
- 10+ years experience in a complex Chemical Manufacturing environment preferably with batch systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of training programs.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Knowledge and prior use of computerized Learning Management Systems with preference given to candidates with experience of SuccessFactors LMS.
- The ability to deliver effective training in multiple forms.
- A strong safety mindset prioritizing safe operations above all else.
- Understanding of Chemical Reaction Fundamentals
- Prior experience with OSHA’s PSM Program is a significant plus.
- Prior experience with ISO systems also a significant plus.
