Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Process Engineer in our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Pittsburgh, PA office. The position will apply academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to industrial and municipal process engineering, water and wastewater treatment, landfill leachate treatment, stormwater management and treatment, and groundwater management, for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Civil/infrastructure, water and wastewater conveyance and treatment detail design and site planning;
- Engineering analyses such as planning studies, engineering studies, hydraulic modeling, equipment sizing and selection;
- Preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications for water, wastewater, groundwater and stormwater treatment facilities;
- Development of functional narratives and Operations and Maintenance plans for water, wastewater, groundwater and stormwater treatment facilities;
- Vendor coordination to assist with cost estimates and lead times for equipment deliverables;
- Fieldwork associated with design and construction services;
- Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
- Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, and proposals.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
- Experience with modeling/design tools such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, MicroStation, WaterGEMS. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
