Summary:
The Campus Health Coordinator fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by assisting the regular School Nurse with the health needs of students when she is absent. To minimize absence due to illness and create a climate of health and well-being consistent with the policies of the Archdiocese and TCCB ED, the Health Coordinator will fill in for the School Nurse during absences and assist, when needed, in annual screenings. The Health Coordinator has decision making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is appointed and evaluated by the principal.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Supports and adheres to the Religious Standards of Catholic School Employees and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
- Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
- Required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as promoting collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
- Responsible for assisting School Nurse with regular screenings, giving medications and evaluating minor injuries and other student health complaints.
- Administer medication to students as per written doctor’s order
- Document all on campus injuries per TCCB ED and school policy
- Supports teachers by providing with first aid information and supplies.
- Communicates effectively within the school community
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
- Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students and staff
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years medical experience.
License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- CPR License
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Must pass the Do Not Hire Registry background screening
