Position Title
Process Planning Analyst II
Job Summary: The Process Planning Analyst II is responsible for translating customer order requirements into accurate and cost-effective manufacturing line-ups to support quoting, scheduling, manufacturing, testing, and certification activities. This role creates and maintains production routings, quality inspection plans, and other master data objects within SAP S/4 HANA and/or Mainframe systems while ensuring compliance with internal technical standards, equipment capabilities, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Process Planning Analyst II serves as a key link between Commercial, Production, Planning, Quality, Technical, and Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate and efficient order execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate customer order requirements into accurate and cost-effective manufacturing line-ups to support quoting, scheduling, manufacturing, testing, and certification activities.
- Create and maintain master data objects, production routings, and quality test and inspection plans within SAP S/4 HANA and/or Mainframe systems.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of master and transactional production order data in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Manage backlog activities and process master data creation and change requests in alignment with business priorities and service expectations.
- Research, identify, and resolve conflicts in incoming order requirements and master data issues independently or through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Understand and communicate the impact of master and transactional data changes across Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, Purchasing, Commercial, EH&S, and Technical functions.
- Support Operational Excellence initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and problem-solving activities.
- Participate in internal and external audits and maintain compliance with SOX, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide backup support for additional product lines and planning areas as needed.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education
- High school diploma required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in manufacturing, production planning, master data management, quality systems, supply chain, or a related technical environment preferred.
- Competency within a specific product line or manufacturing area preferred.
- Experience working with ERP systems, production orders, routings, or quality inspection plans preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, and services.
- Ability to analyze customer requirements and translate them into manufacturing processes and routings.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate and resolve data discrepancies and process issues.
- Experience working with SAP S/4 HANA strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Mainframe systems, Microsoft Office Suite, IBM Notes, and SQL preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish productive relationships across multiple functional areas.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Knowledge of quality requirements, testing processes, specifications, and certification requirements is preferred.
- Metallurgical, manufacturing, or specialty materials industry experience is a plus.
