Cybersecurity Test Automation Engineer (Automotive)

Responsibilities

Requirements and test design

• Analyse system, software and cybersecurity requirements for the VCM base software to ensure complete test coverage]
• Derive system-level test specifications, defining test steps, expected results and pass/fail criteria
• Design positive, negative and robustness test cases, including tampered, replayed and malformed messages
• Maintain traceability from requirements to test results

Cybersecurity verification

• Verify SecOC behaviour: MAC verification, freshness value counters and resynchronisation between the VCM, real ECUs and simulated nodes
• Test secure diagnostics (UDS 0x27 SecurityAccess, 0x29 Authentication), secure boot and secure flashing of the VCM
• Validate key handling, HSM usage, security event logging and IDS reporting
• Run robustness and fuzz tests, including bus flooding, and confirm network management and sleep/wake stay stable

Test automation and functional verification

• Design, develop and maintain the C# test automation framework
• Develop and maintain automated test cases for SIL and HIL, driving CANoe restbus simulation
• Verify software functionality across platform features and configurations
• Verify software flashing procedures in SIL, ensuring successful deployment, configuration and startup of new releases
• Integrate automated tests into the CI pipeline

Qualifications

• Either understand or have hands on experience in embedded or automotive software testing in HIL
• Strong C#/.NET skills for building test automation frameworks and automated test cases (Visual Studio)
• Hands-on Vector CANoe experience, including restbus simulation with DBC/ARXML databases
• Strong CAN/CAN FD knowledge
• Practical knowledge of automotive cybersecurity: ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, and reading TARA outputs
• Understanding of AUTOSAR security modules: SecOC, Crypto Stack (CSM, CryIf, Crypto Driver), KeyM
• Good grasp of cryptography basics: symmetric and asymmetric keys, MACs, hashing, certificates and PKI
• Experience with UDS diagnostics, including SecurityAccess and Authentication.
