What this Job Entails:
The Data Center Technician II is an experienced technical contributor responsible for supporting the reliable and efficient operation of data center infrastructure. This role involves hands-on execution of installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment moves, and decommissioning activities in accordance with established procedures and operational standards. The Technician II applies solid technical knowledge to resolve routine and moderately complex issues, escalates complex or unfamiliar problems when required, and contributes to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality data center environment.
Scope:
- Works as an experienced individual contributor with solid technical knowledge and increasing autonomy in executing day-to-day data center operations.
- Performs equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, moves, changes, and decommissioning activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Applies technical judgment to diagnose and resolve routine and moderately complex infrastructure issues, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Follows established processes, safety requirements, documentation standards, and operational procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Collaborates with team members and other technical groups to complete data center activities and resolve operational issues.
- Supports knowledge sharing and assists less experienced team members with day-to-day technical activities when required.
- Identifies opportunities to improve operational processes, documentation, and efficiency and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
- Working in Client’s Data center, providing 24x7 technical support;
- Responsible for installing, moving, maintaining, and decommissioning hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, fiber/copper/other cables, servers, storage, and other data center devices.
- Confirm, identify, and label devices, racks, and cables to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
- Work within a standard ticketing system, providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer and stakeholder communications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including updates to records, diagrams, inventory, and operational logs to support transparency and audit readiness.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), program policies, safety policies, and security requirements while meeting established quality and productivity standards.
- Perform routine and moderately complex troubleshooting of data center hardware, cabling, power, and connectivity issues, escalating complex or unfamiliar issues when required.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineering teams, and site operations teams to complete installations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and other operational tasks.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and knowledge sharing to less experienced technicians when required, while working within established procedures and guidelines.
- Identify potential issues, process gaps, and opportunities for improving operational efficiency, quality, safety, and documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the onboarding of new team members by sharing operational knowledge and reinforcing established procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, security, and operational standards while carrying out data center activities.
- Escalate complex technical issues and operational challenges to senior technicians, engineering teams, or site leadership as appropriate.
- Maintain a professional and collaborative working relationship with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Understanding of Data Center best practices (i.e. basic fault tolerance, cable routing, calculating power usage)
- knowledge of Data-Center electrical, HVAC, and bandwidth infrastructures as well as fiber/copper topologies
- Understanding of networking components and infrastructures
- Experience with cable management and knowledge of how to run fiber and copper in a data center.
- Able to operate material handling equipment – server lifts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified)
- Ability to cable systems (power/copper/fiber/other) correctly based on ticket requirements and SOP standards
- Knowledge of copper and fiber testers
- Effectively utilize the ticket management systems
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, conditions, and circumstances
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Working knowledge of computer hardware
- Proficiency working with standard desktop PC tools and applications, such as MS Office, MS Outlook, web browsers, etc.
- Must provide own transportation to work locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Data Center technologies are desired
- Hands on experience in electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures
- Working knowledge of networking components and infrastructures, including Wi-Fi
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
- Physically assist in moving and racking equipment.
- Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
- Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively
- Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Salary Range
32,400.00 - 40,500.00 EUR (Annual)- Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.
- Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position. Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
