Description
Definition: Performs a variety of duties related to the professional accounting functions and accounts receivables of the City of Kingsville.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reconcile assigned accounts in the general ledger.
- Monitors and controls accounting activities in the recording of financial transactions, (i.e. accounts receivables, accounts payables, collections).
- Researches, analyzes and prepares journals for financial transactions.
- Assists in special projects and research, such as budget, audit, and end-of-year reports.
- Scanning and maintaining all daily processes.
- Research information when assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of methods and applications of computerized accounting.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment.
- Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship and to communicate with department personnel, other City employees and the public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Acceptable Equivalency:
- Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.
Conditions of Employment:
- Proof of eligibility to legally work in the U.S.
- Background investigation.
