Summary

Curana Health is expanding in the region and welcoming new senior living communities to our network. We are seeking a Territory Sales Representative to support these new facilities and help improve access to care for older adults. In this role, you will work directly with Medicare beneficiaries to help them understand their healthcare options and enroll in the Curana Health Medicare Special Needs Plan (ISNP, IESNP, or MAPD) that best meets their needs.

This opportunity is well suited for a motivated, relationship-driven professional who thrives in a field-based environment and is passionate about supporting older adults.

You will spend time in senior living communities educating and enrolling residents, building trusted relationships, and delivering a high-quality, consultative experience. You will independently manage your territory, strengthen community partnerships, and drive enrollment through education, consultative selling, and exceptional customer service.

Internally, this role is titled Medicare Benefit Consultant (MBC).

We are seeking a professional based in the Roanoke, VA, area to serve as a regional anchor. This role requires frequent local travel to support facilities in neighboring communities, including Blacksburg, Lexington, and Rich Creek, and reports to a Regional Sales Director. Curana Health reimburses eligible travel-related expenses in accordance with company policy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned territory and conduct in-person and virtual sales appointments with Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Educate prospective members about plan options, benefits, and eligibility requirements in a clear, compliant, and customer-friendly manner.
  • Prospect, develop, and grow the territory to drive enrollment, retention, and market penetration.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with senior living staff, agencies, and community organizations serving Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Identify customer needs and use consultative selling techniques to present plan options and clearly explain their features and benefits.
  • Deliver plan education sessions and training to partner staff to increase awareness and support enrollment efforts.
  • Generate enrollments aligned with territory targets and consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals.
  • Provide an exceptional member experience throughout the enrollment lifecycle, including responding to questions about benefits and eligibility.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with Medicare Marketing Guidelines and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document sales activities, customer interactions, and enrollments in company CRM systems.
  • Independently plan travel, schedule appointments, and manage day-to-day territory activity to meet performance expectations.
  • Maintain a goal-oriented, self-motivated approach to achieving sales objectives.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in a customer-facing, sales, or healthcare-related role will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales or customer-facing roles, with a demonstrated ability to understand and meet customer needs.
  • Experience in senior living, admissions, healthcare, community outreach, or another customer-facing environment, with a passion for working with older adults.
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 75%, within the assigned territory, primarily supporting senior living communities and facilities in Roanoke and neighboring communities, including Blacksburg, Lexington, and Rich Creek; candidates based near Roanoke are strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Candidates who are not currently licensed but meet the other required qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Upon hire, the candidate must obtain the appropriate state health insurance license within the first 30 days of employment, including passing the required state licensing exam and completing AHIP certification. Company support is provided.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to individuals and small groups.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills, with the ability to manage a territory and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort initiating outreach and building new relationships within the community.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and CRM or documentation tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds of collateral materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with older adults or in a healthcare setting, such as senior living, home health, hospice, or care coordination.
  • Background in sales, admissions, business development, community outreach, or case management.
