PURPOSE
The HNW Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sustainable growth and expanding FWD High Net Worth (HNW) business through strategic distribution partnerships. The role focuses on developing and deepening relationships with distribution partners to deliver profitable and high-quality business outcomes.
As a key member of the HNW Distribution team, the incumbent will drive business acquisition, enhance distributor productivity, and position FWD as a preferred insurer for HNW clients. The role requires strong relationship management, commercial acumen, market expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Underwriting, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams to deliver differentiated propositions and exceptional partner experiences.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES
Distribution Growth & Business Development
- Deliver agreed sales, productivity, and other key business targets across assigned distribution partners.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow wallet share, increase partner productivity, and achieve sustainable business growth.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new distribution opportunities that align with FWD HNW growth strategy and target customer segments.
- Build and maintain a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline through proactive partner engagement and opportunity management.
- Drive sales initiatives, campaigns, and business development activities to accelerate new business generation and market penetration.
- Support the growth of FWD HNW business by promoting solutions focused on wealth preservation, legacy planning, succession planning, and cross-border wealth needs.
Distributor Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted business partner for assigned distributors.
- Develop strong relationships with senior management, business heads, consultants, and key stakeholders across partner organisations.
- Conduct regular business reviews to identify growth opportunities, address challenges, and strengthen business partnerships.
- Collaborate with partners on joint business planning, sales initiatives, and market development activities.
- Position FWD HNW's value proposition effectively and strengthen the company's reputation within the HNW insurance market.
Sales Enablement & Technical Support
- Provide distributors with product, technical, and sales support to enhance business conversion and improve sales effectiveness.
- Support complex HNW cases through case consultation, illustration support, underwriting discussions, and solution positioning.
- Deliver product, technical, and sales training to improve distributor knowledge, confidence, and capability.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective execution of business opportunities.
- Act as a voice of the distributor by identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and ease of doing business.
Proposition Development & Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, regulatory changes, and emerging trends within the HNW and wealth management landscape.
- Gather market intelligence and distributor feedback to identify business opportunities and areas for proposition enhancement.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support the development, enhancement, and launch of HNW solutions.
- Contribute insights that strengthen FWD HNW’s competitiveness, customer value proposition, and distributor experience.
- Support strategic initiatives that drive innovation and business growth across the HNW segment.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all sales and business development activities comply with MAS regulations, internal policies, and FWD's governance standards.
- Maintain strong awareness of compliance, conduct, and reputational risks associated with distribution activities.
- Monitor business quality and distributor activities to identify potential risks and implement appropriate remediation actions.
- Support distributor onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing governance requirements where required.
Teamwork & Leadership
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture through knowledge sharing and active contribution to team objectives.
- Work effectively across functions to deliver positive outcomes for distributors and customers.
- Support strategic projects, process improvements, and digital initiatives that enhance business performance and distributor experience.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.
