We are seeking a qualified Vendor Performance Specialist – Power Utilities to support our Power Division in managing contractor relationships, performance, compliance, and resource readiness across multiple utility markets.
The role will oversee vendor performance against contractual, operational, quality, and safety expectations while ensuring the availability of qualified service providers for ongoing and upcoming projects. The position will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Storm Response, Business Development, Risk, Legal, Safety, and Compliance teams to support reliable project execution.
The role will support utility programs including overhead and underground distribution, transmission, substations, pole inspection and maintenance, storm response, engineering, vegetation management, and grid modernization.
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30pm - 2:30am (IST), Daily On-Site.
- Location: EMAAR Digital Green, Tower B, Golf Course Road Extension, Sector 61, Gurugram, Haryana – 122011.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, qualification, performance monitoring, compliance, and offboarding.
- Build and maintain relationships with utility contractors, engineering firms, construction vendors, and specialized service providers.
- Develop, track, analyze, and report vendor KPIs, SLAs, quality, safety, responsiveness, and project delivery metrics.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and coordinate corrective action plans for identified performance gaps.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Construction, Storm Response, and Business Development teams to forecast resource requirements and optimize vendor allocation across projects.
- Verify vendor compliance with contractual terms, licensing, insurance, utility standards, safety requirements, and client-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, certifications, compliance documentation, and performance history.
- Develop and maintain vendor rate cards by geography, scope of work, utility program, and client requirements while monitoring market pricing.
- Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Safety, and Compliance teams to resolve vendor issues, mitigate risks, and improve vendor management processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, escalations, and operational coordination.
- Support vendor sourcing and qualification for utility construction, engineering, storm restoration, pole inspection, make-ready engineering, substation, and transmission projects.
- Monitor vendor safety performance, incident reporting, training requirements, and adherence to applicable OSHA, utility, and client standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in vendor management, vendor performance, subcontractor management, supplier management, or operations within the electric utility, power construction, engineering, or infrastructure industry.
- Strong understanding of electric utility construction and maintenance, including distribution, transmission, substations, overhead and underground systems, storm restoration, vegetation management, or related utility services.
- Hands-on experience with vendor KPIs, SLAs, performance metrics, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of utility contractor qualification, licensing, insurance, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing multiple vendors across different regions, project types, and operational priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Proficiency with vendor management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting IOUs, electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, or utility consulting organizations is preferred.
- Familiarity with pole inspection, joint-use, make-ready engineering, transmission and distribution construction, renewable energy interconnections, storm response, or grid modernization is preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, utility safety practices, and contractor compliance programs is preferred.
