Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Data Management Analyst. We are looking for you to join our team as a Data Management Analyst based out of Orlando, FL.
As a Data Management Analyst at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Cross-Domain Handling of Releasable Data (CHORD) portfolio. CHORD is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) two-domain Cross Domain Solution (CDS). The CHORD portfolio comprises multiple contract awards and with various customers. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Data Manager supporting the Configuration Manager for program documentation and data management activities.
- Own the organization, control, and maintenance of program documentation (plans, procedures, drawings, specifications, reports, meeting minutes, etc.).
- Develop, maintain, and improve document templates, forms, and standardized formats to enable efficient, consistent documentation across the team.
- Lead and coordinate document peer reviews, including scheduling, distributing materials, capturing comments, and ensuring timely incorporation and closure of review findings.
- Create and manage document registers/trackers to monitor delivery dates, submission status, approvals, and responses.
- Coordinate document submissions to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers in accordance with program schedules and contractual requirements.
- Track and report document status, risks, and issues to the Configuration Manager and program leadership; drive closure of open actions.
- Perform quality checks on documentation, including verifying completeness, accuracy, proper versioning, and adherence to configuration/document control standards.
- Rapidly correct formatting issues in documents (styles, headings, page layout, tables, figures, cross‑references) to meet configuration and customer standards.
- Maintain and administer electronic document repositories (SharePoint, network drives, configuration management tools, or other document control systems).
- Ensure proper naming conventions, file structures, and metadata/tagging to support searchability and traceability.
- Support change processes by ensuring updated documentation is baselined, properly versioned, and linked to relevant change records.
- Collaborate closely with systems, software, hardware, and specialty engineering teams to collect inputs, resolve data gaps, and clarify documentation requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on documentation best practices, templates, and tools.
- Support audits and reviews (internal and external) by preparing document packages, ensuring required artifacts are available and current.
- Assist the Configuration Manager with continuous improvement of documentation and data management processes, tools, and standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English or related discipline (and 2 years of relevant experience; 0 years with Masters; or 0 years with PhD) or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); demonstrated ability to create and maintain templates, tables, and standardized formats.
- Proven ability to manage multiple document submittals and deadlines in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with document formatting, version control, and data integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and status reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, including styles, macros, complex tables, and automation for document templates and trackers.
- Experience working in a documentation, data management, or configuration management role in an engineering, aerospace/defense, or similar technical environment.
- Experience establishing and/or leading a structured peer review process for technical documentation, including criteria, checklists, and metrics to improve document quality over time.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and follow through on commitments.
- Experience creating and managing document trackers (e.g., using Excel and/or database tools) to monitor deliverables, due dates, and approval status.
- Experience in configuration management, document control, or data management on complex engineering or defense programs.
- Familiarity with configuration management principles, change control, and baseline management.
- Experience with document management systems and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, PLM/CM tools, or similar).
- Experience preparing documentation for customer deliveries (e.g., CDR artifacts, data item deliverables, or contract data requirements lists).
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to documentation and configuration management (e.g., EIA/ISO, systems engineering processes).
- Prior experience working closely with systems, software, or hardware engineering teams on documentation and data deliveries.
Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
