CLN Ultrasound Technologist - DeKalb Obstetric & Gynecology Clinic - FT - 1st Shift

Overview

Performs ultrasonic examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure. Performs all procedures according to departmental protocol. Performs other related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Completely performs all Ultrasound procedures without requiring constant supervision.• Assumes responsibility for patient care, safety and comfort.• Creatively and ingeniously obtains Ultrasound images, while adhering to Departmental Standards.• Professionally maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Standards.• Zealously assures that all procedures are properly ordered, verified and acknowledged.• Properly identifies patient before procedures.• Completes annually defined position competencies.• Willingly performs other duties as required.

• Maintains credentials for personal and/or ARMS Certification.• Interacts and communicates with physicians, support staff, and other healthcare professionals tofacilitate departmental operation.

Qualifications

Education Required: Associates degree in Radiology

 

Licensure Required:

• ARRT and/or RDMS registered or registry eligible
• BLS Certification

Experience: Two years experience in performing ultrasound procedures preferred.
