We're seeking a technical leader to lead and grow a team of software engineers. You'll drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentorship, and career development while delivering complex software solutions. You'll shape both technical standards and team culture in a high-performing engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship that elevates team capabilities
- Guide career development through 1:1s, performance reviews, and personalized growth plans
- Build team engagement and psychological safety for innovation
Technical Leadership & Code Quality
- Conduct comprehensive code reviews ensuring quality, architecture, and best practices
- Provide hands-on technical guidance on complex implementations and system design
- Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for strategic adoption
- Drive architectural decisions balancing innovation with maintainability
Project Delivery & Coordination
- Oversee project execution, resource allocation, and sprint planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless delivery
- Identify and remove technical blockers
- Monitor metrics and maintain quality standards while meeting deadlines
Strategic Communication
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Communicate with leadership on team performance, project health, and initiatives
- Champion technical achievements and business impact
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years leading, mentoring, or managing engineering teams
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one modern programming language or technology domain
- Solid architectural knowledge (design patterns, modularity, scalability)
- Experience with modern development practices (version control, testing, deployment)
- Proven ability to conduct effective code reviews
Leadership & Management
- Demonstrated success leading technical teams with tangible examples of developing engineers
- Strong coaching abilities across different experience levels and backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills for technical and stakeholder discussions
- Experience creating technical growth paths for engineers
- Collaborative leadership style that builds trust and accountability
