The ABCS IT Team is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of enterprise technology infrastructure as well as supporting end users with the technology required to effectively do their jobs. As a key member of this team, the IT Specialist II must be proficient in existing technology and effective at learning new technology. The IT Specialist II must demonstrate strong people skills through an ability to work as part of a team and to individually help non-technical staff overcome technical challenges.
Requirements
Possesses 2+ years of experience in technology implementation, support, and maintenance in a Windows-based network environment. Areas of preference include:
1. Sophos and Ubiquiti network appliances and services such as firewalls, managed switches, access points, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
2. Server software and hardware applications such as Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, RAID, Hyper-V, Group Policy, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and Powershell.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and services (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Teams Phone, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID, Exchange, and Purview)
4. Endpoint management and support to include Windows 10 and 11 computers, Apple iPads, network printers, and VOIP office phones.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university; degree in technology-related field preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with people, both as a member of a team and in 1-on-1 settings. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with coworkers in-person and virtually over phone and video.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to search online resources for solutions to technical problems and also create clear and concise technical documentation for others.
- Must be in agreement with the Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, Core Values and Guiding Principles of Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries. Agreement with these policies is essential to being able to provide hope and care to hurting children and families with a Christ-centered approach.
- Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and an acceptable driving record, including no revocation or suspension of license within the last 3 years.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Level 1 fingerprint clearance card as required by the Arizona Department of Economic Security, clear criminal background check, urine drug test, and TB test.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide training and self-help resources for staff in the form of in-person training, documentation, and computer-based tutorials.
- Setup and maintain office IT hardware, such as network firewalls, modems, switches, and access points, VOIP phone systems, and network and A/V cabling.
- Manage local area networks and wireless consisting of Windows Servers, Windows computers, network printers, and various mobile devices.
- Provide training and IT setup for new employees.
- Manage and troubleshoot computers onsite and remote via SplashTop (remote desktop application).
- Provide staff support over the phone.
- Must be available periodically to work outside of normal business hours to minimize impact on business operations.
- Schedule requirements for this position is to work designated hours throughout the week.
- Must be able to independently lift and transfer 40 lbs.
- Travel to other locations for in-person support as needed.
- Carries out any other duties and responsibilities, as required by supervisor, to perform the job.
- Will be provided cell phone reimbursement to ensure ability to have access to phone, text and email when off-site and during non-business hours.
