The Electrical Engineer will conduct the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical as well as control and instrumentation systems and components for various projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct the design and development of electrical systems, including MV and LV power distribution and control systems.
Design of digital and analogue controlled systems (PLC and SCADA control)
Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to create and review technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
Conduct calculations and simulations to evaluate system performance and optimize designs.
Participate in the testing and validation of electrical components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations and project specific requirements.
Develop project documentation, including specifications, reports, and user manuals.
Troubleshoot electrical and control issues during projects and for aftermarket support and recommend solutions to improve system reliability.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients, to meet project requirements and timelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical, control and instrumentation engineering.
Design or be part of, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture, Factory acceptance testing, installation and Site acceptance testing and handover of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Travel to various customer sites for site meetings, commissioning, verify installations, audits and inspections.
Assist with costing and tendering of electrical and instrumentation systems.
QC/QA of Electrical and Instrumentation components and installations
POSITION CAPABILITIES
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
PR Eng registration or working toward registration
5 years + relevant experience within the Bulk Materials Handling Equipment environment.
Solid understanding of electrical and control and instrumentation engineering principles and practices.
Proven experience with CAD software creating EC&I drawings.
Proven experience with electrical design software and simulation tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
