This role requires full-time on-site presence.

Role

In this role, you will develop standards, methods and procedures to optimize the use and simplify the maintenance of our production and broadcasting systems/equipment. You will also lead the response to power outages or major technical incidents that fall outside the scope of routine maintenance, troubleshooting and restoration of production and broadcasting systems/equipment. This position operates in a cross-functional environment spanning networking, optics, electronics, computer systems, mechanics, machining, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics. Additionally, you will design, author, organize and deliver technical training courses and seminars.

Key Tasks

  • Develop and recommend work procedures, methods and standards to meet or exceed operational requirements for the optimal use and maintenance of production and broadcasting systems/equipment as well as the fabrication and machining of parts and tools; coordinate implementation with maintenance technicians.
  • Advise team members on installing, commissioning and operating production and broadcasting systems/equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, assign, review and monitor project work performed by technicians reporting to you, providing guidance as needed.
  • Respond to power outages or major technical incidents that fall outside the scope of routine maintenance, troubleshooting and restoration of production and broadcasting systems/equipment.
  • Identify operational needs, draft quality control procedures, determine testing frequencies and assess performance results.
  • Evaluate system and equipment performance to ensure serviceability before purchase, after installation or during commissioning, and report your findings.
  • Design, author, organize and deliver technical training courses or seminars and guide workers in performing their duties.
  • Coordinate, review and assess the work of trainees and report on their progress.
  • Design, administer and grade technical competency tests for staff and job applicants, providing clear assessments of their skills.
  • Design, draft, catalogue and update technical documentation, reference manuals and training materials, ensuring they are readily available to the team.
  • Evaluate existing equipment and produce detailed reports regarding its maintenance or short- and long-term replacement cycles.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies to proactively resolve technical challenges.
  • Develop and document new technical modules and subsystems to modify or adapt existing equipment, address production gaps and meet specific routine production/broadcasting requirements.
  • Ensure all necessary maintenance components (including documentation and toolsets) are available when commissioning new systems/equipment, making proactive recommendations to support long-term maintenance.
  • Complete the appropriate forms and documents; share information verbally or in writing to ensure proper followup and to keep others informed.
  • Familiarize other employees with their duties and work environment.
  • Carry out, as needed, all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group, as well as other related duties.

Job Requirements

Education or equivalent knowledge:

  • Community college diploma in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computer systems option) or a related field.

Experience:

  • Seven years’ experience working with a wide variety of equipment in a complex, cross-functional technical environment.

Selected candidates will be required to undergo:

  • Interview.

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the next

step will be asked to complete a background check. This includes:
