WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US
The Accountant at SimCorp, is responsible for supporting the daily accounting functions, ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This includes performing end-to-end activities of the assigned process, assisting with the preparation of financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The accountant works closely with other teams to ensure smooth financial operations and helps maintain accurate financial records.
What you will be responsible for
Perform daily R2R activities, ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and closing timetables
Prepare and post standard journal entries for accruals, prepayments, reclasses, depreciation, amortization, and other routine accounting transactions
Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and follow up on reconciling items within agreed timelines
Perform P&L review and variance analysis to support month-end closing and financial reporting activities
Support fixed asset, intercompany, cost allocation, and other general ledger processes as assigned
Assist internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation, schedules, and responses to audit queries
Maintain accurate process documentation and support compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Tax, Statutory Reporting, Entity Controllers, and other Finance teams to support end-to-end financial reporting
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, standardization, automation, and data accuracy
Handle ad hoc tasks, special reporting requirements, and other finance support activities as needed
WHAT WE VALUE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification
With 1–3 years of relevant experience in General Ledger or Record-to-Report accounting, in a multinational or shared services environment
Good understanding of IFRS and US GAAP, with willingness to further develop technical accounting knowledge
Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems; familiarity with Workday and automation tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Highly effective at identifying solutions with careful attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines, especially during month-end close periods
Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across global teams
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work both with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Flexibility to work mid-shift (1:00 PM to 10:00 PM) to support regional and global finance operations
Fluent in English with effective written and verbal communication skills
