We're seeking a resourceful and relationship-driven Procurement Specialist to help ensure our teams have the right resources, at the right time, and at the best value.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, building supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and using data and market intelligence to drive smart purchasing decisions.

What You'll Do

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll manage the procurement process from requisition through order fulfillment, helping departments secure the products and services they need while maintaining compliance and fiscal responsibility.

In this role, you will:

- Serve as a trusted procurement partner to internal stakeholders across the organization.

- Manage assigned requisitions and source products through existing suppliers whenever possible, utilizing knowledge of the Mass General Brigham item catalog and approved vendor network.

- Oversee purchase orders from creation through completion, ensuring accuracy,
timely processing, and successful delivery.

- Review purchasing requests to confirm alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and budget requirements.

- Research and identify qualified suppliers to support business needs and operational goals.

- Assist in the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers for inclusion in the Mass General Brigham Supplier File.

- Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships while negotiating competitive pricing, favorable terms, and overall value.

- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding order status, product availability, and procurement solutions.

- Monitor market trends, supply chain developments, and pricing fluctuations to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.

- Contribute to initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree General Business required


Experience

  • 0-1 year directly related purchasing experience required
  • 2-3 years customer service support-related work preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in appropriate software.
  • Critical thinking, sales, budget, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
