The Sustainability & Brand Communications Department safeguards and advances UNIQLO Vietnam's sustainability agenda across our three global pillars - Planet, People, and Society - while building brand trust through clear, consistent communication with customers, employees, and the community.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for planning, execution, and continuous improvement of sustainability initiatives and sustainability marketing in alignment with Fast Retailing's global sustainability priorities and business objectives. It is required to work closely with local business functions and Global Headquarters (GHQ) to drive community impact programs, employee engagement initiatives, circularity projects, sustainability education, and sustainability performance tracking. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, analytical capability, and a passion for creating positive social and environmental impacts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Sustainability Strategy Planning & Project Execution
Support the implementation of local sustainability strategies and initiatives aligned with Fast Retailing’s global sustainability priorities.
Assist in developing annual sustainability action plans and KPI roadmaps.
Monitor project progress and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support the localization and implementation of global and local sustainability initiatives within the Vietnam market
Sustainability Communication and Reporting
Prepare sustainability-related materials, reports, presentations, communication strategy and planning, and project updates.
Be responsible for internal and external communication related to sustainability initiatives, including customer awareness and employee engagement.
Ensure sustainability messages are clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with UNIQLO / Fast Retailing direction.
Consolidate project results, learnings, and improvement points for management review and future planning.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with related internal teams, including other teams such as Marketing, Store Operations, Warehouse, HR, Legal, Logistics and other relevant departments.
Coordinate with stores and operational teams to ensure sustainability initiatives can be implemented effectively in the field.
Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth alignment, timely feedback, and clear execution.
Facilitate regular communication and follow-up with relevant PICs to ensure project progress and accountability.
Stakeholder and Partnership Management
Coordinate with external stakeholders such as NGOs, communities, agencies, partners, vendors, or other relevant organizations.
Support partnership activities that contribute to sustainability objectives and company impact.
Maintain professional communication and coordination with external parties to ensure smooth collaboration and execution.
Support preparation and follow-up of sustainability events, community programs, or collaborative initiatives.
Research, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement
Monitor sustainability trends, social/environmental topics, customer expectations, and relevant local issues.
Stay updated on relevant regulations, public concerns, and sustainability practices that may affect company initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve sustainability programs, communication, and operational impact.
Provide input and recommendations based on research, project learnings, and stakeholder feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, Communications, PR or a related field.
At least 6 years of relevant experience in sustainability, CSR, ESG, community engagement, project management, brand communications, PR or related fields.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong experience in branding communications for internal and/or external groups
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, able to translate vision into execution and drive results in a fast-changing environment.
Strong English communication capability with executive-level written and verbal presentation skills.
Nice to Have
Experience managing NGO, government, or community partnerships
Experience in project performance tracking, branding, KPI management, or impact measurement.
Experience in retail, consumer goods, fashion, or multinational organizations.
Familiarity with sustainability topics such as circular economy, community development, employee engagement, and ESG.
