Job Summary
The Tool Crib attendant will perform inspection and maintenance of cutting tools and holders to maintain tool functionality. Key duties include inventory management, tracking of tools and supplies, tool care, including inspection and minor repairs, and support which involves providing timely access to needed tools for production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Work from manufacturing schedules, verbal instructions, operation sheets and written requests to make accurate and timely transactions with respect to crib stock arrangements and availability.
- Inspect tools for damage, cleanliness, and proper operation before issuing or after receiving them.
- Coordinate tool repairs or replacements as needed to ensure availability.
- Monitor tool usage and prevent loss or unauthorized removal.
- Prepare complete tool kits for various manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Maintain storage area in clean and orderly condition.
- Check all incoming materials against accompanying paperwork and store them in proper location.
- Prepare and complete all related paperwork and reports required.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report shortages or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
- Work with tooling suppliers/vendors
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- 1 year experience as Machine Operator or relevant experience
- 1 year experience working within a Job Shop environment

- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others
- Ability to follow and delegate work instructions and process
- Ability to learn new processes and adhere to standard operating procedures

- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holiday hours.

- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and basic maintenance.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and twisting. There will be occasional usage of his/her hands to power grasp and manipulate objects, tools or controls, and occasional pushing, pulling and reaching above the shoulders. The position requires frequent walking and standing, as well as repetitive usage of hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching below shoulder level. Additionally, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance. Required to wear PPE (ie. Face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection on plant floor).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing warehouse environment. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate. Working in manufacturing environment which includes, dust, fumes, cold, and heat, humidity from plating and chemical solutions.
