The Opportunity

 

As a Transportation Scheduling & Planning Sr. Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution of shipment planning, transportation scheduling, and carrier management processes to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective product movement across the supply chain network.

 

In this role, you will drive operational excellence by optimizing transportation capacity, aligning planning activities with business priorities, and partnering with key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution. You will also lead and develop a team of transportation planning leaders while influencing strategic initiatives that support service, efficiency, and continuous improvement objectives.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

  • Lead transportation scheduling and shipment planning activities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient utilization of transportation and warehouse resources.
  • Oversee carrier assignment and tendering processes, ensuring compliance with transportation policies, contracts, route guides, and capacity availability.
  • Drive execution and continuous improvement of transportation planning models, processes, and operational standards.
  • Monitor carrier acceptance and rejection trends, proactively resolving issues to minimize service disruptions and operational risk.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for transportation planning requirements, shipment programs, tendering activities, and scheduling strategies.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Logistics, Warehousing, Fleet, Sales, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support critical business objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Coordinators, Associate Managers, and Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze transportation performance metrics and operational trends to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Resolve escalated transportation and planning challenges in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Support key business initiatives through strong stakeholder management, communication, and strategic influence.

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

 

  • Fluent English (written and verbal) required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain planning, operations, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience leading managers and large-scale teams in a service-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning, logistics operations, carrier management, capacity planning, and broader supply chain processes.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain cost drivers and operational performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation planning or supply chain systems.
  • Experience within food, beverage, or consumer products supply chains preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
