Description
Intro
If you've spent your career translating carbon accounting methodology into something a client's spreadsheet can actually hold (GHG Protocol scopes, supplier data collection, regulatory reporting) you've been doing half of this job already. As a Carbon Data Consultant at carbmee, you bring that methodological grounding directly into a live software environment, working with enterprise customers in Automotive, Defense, Chemicals, and Machinery to build their Corporate, Supply Chain, and Product carbon footprints (CCF, SCF, PCF) inside carbmee EIS™.
The difference from a traditional carbon consulting engagement is speed and precision: instead of a six-month spreadsheet-based project, you're configuring a platform that does in weeks what used to take quarters, and instead of handing a client a static report, you're the person who stays engaged with them week over week as their data, their regulatory exposure, and their reduction targets evolve.
Your tasks
- Lead carbon footprint engagements end to end: scoping what a customer has bought (CCF, SCF, PCF, or a combination), mapping where their relevant data lives, and configuring carbmee EIS™ to calculate and report it correctly.
- Apply GHG Protocol scope logic in practice: including the Scope 3.1 (upstream) and 3.4 (transport) split that defines Supply Chain Carbon Footprint, and know when a customer's data forces a fallback from activity-based to spend-based estimation.
- Support customers on regulatory-driven engagements: CBAM, EUDR, PPWR, and carbon cost forecasting, translating regulatory requirements into concrete data and reporting needs.
- Run supplier engagement conversations, helping customers understand why collecting real supplier data (rather than defaulting to conservative AI estimates) is often the fastest way to lower both emissions and cost.
- Build and present customer-facing dashboards in Studio, and translate the results into decarbonization recommendations a non-technical executive can act on.
- Represent carbmee in prospect and sales-led demos, speaking fluently across sustainability methodology, regulation, and product capability in the same conversation.
- Feed real deployment learnings back to carbmee's product team to keep the platform aligned with regulatory and methodological reality.
Your profile
Who you are
Associate: you have 1-3 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG reporting, carbon accounting, or a corporate sustainability team, and are comfortable with structured data work (Excel at minimum; SQL is a strong plus, and we'll help you build it further).
Senior: you have 4+ years leading carbon accounting or sustainability consulting engagements, ideally with direct enterprise client exposure, and can operate independently across ambiguous, multi-stakeholder engagements.
- Solid grounding in the GHG Protocol (Scope 1/2/3) and familiarity with at least one relevant EU regulation (CBAM, CSRD, EUDR, PPWR).
- Comfort working with real, messy customer data: including the judgment to flag what's missing or wrong rather than fill in gaps yourself.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, from hands-on data sessions to C-level presentations.
- SQL or basic scripting ability; genuine willingness to build technical fluency on the job is required.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Passion for sustainability and comfort operating inside a fast-moving software company rather than a traditional consulting engagement model.
- Based in Munich.
