What you’ll contribute to 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Energy Integration Specialist to join our Business Planning & Strategy division in a permanent fulltime position.

The Business Planning & Strategy Division provides leadership across corporate governance, compliance, strategic planning, reputation management and community engagement. Partnering closely with the business, the division drives organisational performance, supports problem-solving, enables the achievement of strategic objectives, and fosters a high-performing culture that positions the company as an employer of choice.

The Senior Energy Integration Specialist is responsible for leading the development and management of external hydrogen fuel cell integration partnerships. The role involves building the required engineering capability, collaborating with key stakeholders, and working closely with Toyota Motor Corporation to secure technical approvals and ensure successful integration outcomes.

This role is based in our Port Melbourne office with flexible work arrangements on offer.  

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic system integration projects that support future Toyota hydrogen initiatives and business objectives.

  • Develop, manage and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to build critical organisational capability and expertise in fuel cell systems, creating pathways to commercialisation.

  • Lead engineering project planning, analysis and execution to ensure objectives, milestones and performance targets are achieved, while coordinating matrix teams across Toyota and external partner organisations.

  • Drive the development of Toyota's fuel cell technology roadmap through market analysis, insights into the Australian hydrogen sector, and collaboration with external partners, ONE Toyota companies and TMC global affiliates.

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges, including leading the preparation of business cases, feasibility studies and strategic assessments in partnership with external organisations.

  • Maintain and enhance reporting frameworks and performance metrics, providing accurate and timely information to support strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and decision-making activities.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of hydrogen system integration projects, including the application of Toyota fuel cell technology.

  • Strong capability in analysing, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical and business challenges.

  • Proven ability to contribute to the development and delivery of strategic initiatives and programs.

  • Understanding of business case development, feasibility assessment and commercial evaluation processes.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project and organisational objectives.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project leadership skills.
