About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Regulatory & Compliance Affairs Manager to own our MiCA license end-to-end, lead our AML function, and help mature our governance framework as we scale. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable in a regulatory meeting, drafting a policy, and managing a team. Key Responsibilities MiCA License ManagementOwn and maintain our existing MiCA license, ensuring ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirementsAct as the primary point of contact for the regulator (FMA) on all license-related mattersCoordinate with external legal counsel on regulatory filings, interpretations, and license conditionsMonitor regulatory developments (MiCA, DORA related EU/national guidance) and assess impact on the businessPrepare and submit required regulatory reports, notifications, and disclosuresAML OversightManage and oversee the AML team, ensuring the AML/CFT framework is effective and up to dateEnsure ongoing compliance with AML obligations (KYC, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, risk assessments)Act as or work closely with the Money Laundering Officer (AMLO and Deputy AMLO)Liaise with the FMA and other authorities on AML-related mattersGovernanceDrive improvements to the company's governance structure, policies, and internal control frameworkSupport the design and implementation of committees, reporting lines, and escalation processes appropriate for a regulated entityEnsure documentation (policies, procedures, org charts) reflects actual practice and regulatory expectationsSupport internal and external audits, as well as regulatory reviews/inspectionsLegal Oversight – Gift Card BusinessManage the legal and regulatory aspects of the gift card business lineAssess licensing/e-money/payment services implications and coordinate with external counsel as neededReview contracts, terms & conditions, and partner agreements relevant to this businessAdditional Responsibilities Act as a bridge between business teams and legal/compliance, translating regulatory requirements into practical operational guidanceSupport new product/business initiatives with regulatory input from the outset ("compliance by design")Maintain relationships with external law firms, auditors, and consultants; manage related budgetsContribute to regulatory horizon-scanning and internal training on compliance topicsSupport fit & proper assessments and internal governance filings for management/key function holdersPrepare board/management reporting on regulatory and compliance mattersSupport incident management and regulatory breach reporting where relevantContribute to the company's risk management framework (compliance risk, operational risk related to regulatory topics)RequirementsDegree in Law, Finance, or related field5+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or legal roles within financial services, payments, or crypto-assetsSolid understanding of MiCA, AML/CFT requirements, and Austrian/EU financial regulationExperience communicating directly with regulators (FMA) and managing outside counselTeam leadership experience (AML team or similar)Strong stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally with business, product, and finance teamsFluent in German and English
