Position Overview
The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving product and process quality across manufacturing operations. The role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and customer-facing teams to resolve quality issues, implement preventive actions, support new product introductions, maintain quality system compliance and drive continuous improvement. The position also supports customer satisfaction by leading investigations, reducing defects, and improving manufacturing effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities to resolve customer and manufacturing quality issues.
Support production by identifying manufacturability concerns, implementing process improvements, and driving effective corrective actions.
Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and support compliance with established quality system procedures.
Identify quality system gaps at the department and plant level and lead improvement initiatives as the subject matter expert.
Coordinate customer return investigations and ensure timely communication and resolution.
Partner with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to define quality requirements for new components and communicate expectations to suppliers.
Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities for new products and significant process or product changes.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support new product development milestones, launch readiness, and zero-defect objectives.
Execute or facilitate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), supplier and customer approvals, and revisions to PFMEAs, Control Plans, and related quality documentation.
Analyze scrap, warranty, internal defects, and customer complaints to identify trends and implement improvement plans.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum two (2) years of Quality or Manufacturing experience.
No relocation assistance is available. Candidates should currently reside within approximately 50 miles of Waukesha, WI. Active-duty military candidates are exempt from the geographic limitation.

Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years of Quality or Manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of statistics, calculus, trigonometry and related analytical methods.
Project management experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings and specifications.
Experience with structured problem-solving tools including 8D, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA, Control Charts, Pareto Charts and A3 methodology.
Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Experience with electrical testing procedures and protocols.
Fundamental knowledge of electrical equipment at both component and system levels.
Knowledge of applicable regulations, standards and electrical safe work practices including NFPA 70E.
Ability to interpret and troubleshoot electrical control, protection, instrumentation, metering schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience supporting an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Ability to support manufacturing and engineering teams in resolving electrical design and production issues.
Additional Information
This position participates in a collaborative support schedule to help provide operational support for manufacturing as required, including after-hours support when necessary.
