GENERAL DESCRIPTION
To maintain a high standard of food presentation service and hygiene to patients and visitors
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity
- Ensure that food items are appropriately arranged on plates and platters
- Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu
- Store food in an appropriate manner
- Ensure that food items are properly rotated in storage
- Dispose of expired products and record accordingly
- Arrange plates and food items neatly on trays
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen by following cleaning and sanitation guidelines
- Manage transportation of food and supplies. Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements and recommended approved guidance
- Deliver food to the appropriate room or person; collect and discard the meal tray within the stipulated time
- Managing food inventory and supplies are according to par level
- Wash dishes and flatware
- Operate and maintain dishwashers
- Perform light bookkeeping duties
- Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately
- Inspect food items and equipment on a constant basis
- Assist with food preparation services for catering projects
- Any other duties as per instructed by the organization
JOB REQUIREMENT
Education:
- SPM or equivalent
Knowledge and Experiences:
- No experience required as on-the-job training shall be provided. However, experience in food related industry shall be an added
- Familiarity with any food industry
- Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage
- Knowledge of customer service related
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and interface with various levels of the organization
