Description
Are you looking for a career move that will put you at the heart of a global financial institution? Then bring your skills in hands-on technical leadership, vendor platform mastery, and systems integration to our Enterprise KYC team.
By joining Citi, you will become part of a global organization whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
Team/Role Overview
This hands-on technical leadership role is responsible for directing the design, software development, custom extension, and systems integration of Citi's enterprise Know Your Customer (KYC) platforms. You will serve as the Technical Lead & Solution Authority for Fenergo implementations and integrations across global business divisions.
The team's purpose is to ensure Fenergo — a core vendor-provided platform supporting KYC activity across multiple Citi businesses — is configured, extended, and integrated to the highest technical standard. On a day-to-day basis, you will orchestrate engineering squads responsible for configuring Fenergo core modules, developing bespoke microservices and API gateways, orchestrating complex entity data pipelines, and integrating Fenergo with internal portals, screening engines, risk calculation models, and core banking backends. This is a highly visible role, central to establishing a single, dedicated senior technical authority for this platform across the enterprise.
What you will do
As the Enterprise KYC Technology Development Lead, you will be responsible for driving the team's technical execution and ensuring flawless delivery of its commitments.
- Act as the senior engineering authority for the Fenergo CLM platform.
- Lead technical design reviews with Fenergo.
- Engage in configuration and custom extension discussions on Fenergo workflows.
- Lead engagement as senior technology partner on dynamic data models, policy rules, and document management capabilities.
- Drive architecture for the development of custom API-driven integrations, adapter services, and data transformation microservices connecting Fenergo to internal and external enterprise systems.
- Drive architecture for robust, event-driven and synchronous integration patterns connecting Fenergo with Front-End Channels & Portals, Screening & Risk Engines, Authoritative Data & RegTech Providers, and Core Banking & Ledgers.
- Maintain high unit and automated integration test coverage across all custom modules and Fenergo integration endpoints.
- Ensure technical architecture and implementations strictly comply with global KYC regulatory mandates.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to software engineers, integration developers, Fenergo configurators, and offshore/nearshore technical partners.
What we will ask of you
We are looking for a hands-on technical leader with a proven track record of owning a major vendor platform within a complex, global financial services environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Fenergo (strongly preferred) or a comparable vendor CLM/KYC platform, including configuration, rules engine, and integration layers.
- A proven track record leading technical design reviews and acting as the technical solution authority for a major vendor platform — not just a user of it.
- Deep subject matter expertise in API design, microservices, and data transformation engineering.
- Demonstrable experience managing or mentoring distributed engineering teams, including offshore/nearshore partners.
- Strong understanding of KYC regulatory requirements as they translate into system design and configuration choices.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset combined with strong attention to the regulatory and audit implications of technical decisions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10 plus years of relevant experience
- Hands-on configuration, rules engine, and integration experience with Fenergo or a comparable vendor CLM/KYC platform.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design reviews and act as the solution authority for a major vendor platform, rather than solely operating it.
- Strong capability in API design, microservices architecture, and data transformation engineering.
- Skilled at managing and mentoring distributed engineering teams, including offshore and nearshore partners.
- Working knowledge of KYC regulatory requirements and how they shape system design and configuration decisions.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused approach balanced with close attention to the regulatory and audit implications of technical decisions.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Prior people-management experience leading engineering or technology teams.
- Exposure to building agentic AI capabilities within risk or decisioning platforms.
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience.
What we can offer you
This is a highly visible role that will offer you the opportunity to become the definitive technical authority for a platform at the heart of Citi's KYC capability. You will be empowered to shape how this platform evolves across the enterprise, developing skills that will accelerate your career.
