Responsibilities

Build the Next Generation of Loss Control

 

We are looking for a Vice President of Loss Control to lead a meaningful transformation of how Loss Control contributes to underwriting.

 

Our ambition is straightforward: Loss Control should do more than complete inspections. It should help us make better underwriting decisions.

 

This leader will build a Loss Control capability that combines deep technical expertise with strong operational execution. The VP will establish technical and survey standards, strengthen and optimize our vendor network, modernize workflows, expand multiline capabilities, and bring Loss Control insight directly into underwriting and portfolio strategy.

 

What You'll Lead

• Set the strategy and future operating model for Loss Control.
• Build technical capability that extends beyond Property and supports multiline commercial underwriting.
• Establish clear standards for high-quality, actionable Loss Control work.
• Transform vendor governance through auditing, scorecards, capability mapping, and performance management.
• Align vendor expertise and geographic coverage with portfolio needs.
• Build stronger connections among Loss Control, Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Technology.
• Modernize the workflow from inspection ordering through underwriting response and recommendation resolution.
• Bring Loss Control expertise into appetite, guidelines, referrals, and portfolio decisions.
• Connect risk observations with Claims experience and emerging loss drivers.
• Establish meaningful measures of quality, timeliness, coverage, and underwriting impact.

 

Qualifications

The Leader We're Looking For

You are a technically credible commercial insurance Loss Control leader who understands that great technical work only matters if it results in action.

 

You can operate strategically while remaining close to the business. You know how to establish standards, challenge vendors, develop technical talent, influence underwriters, improve operating processes, and turn field-level risk observations into broader portfolio insight.

 

Most importantly, you have an operator's mindset. You set clear expectations, measure outcomes, identify where things are breaking down, and create accountability for getting them fixed.

 

The Opportunity

 

This is an opportunity to build, not simply inherit.

 

The mandate is to create a Loss Control function whose value is demonstrated through the quality of its insight, the actions that follow, and its influence on underwriting strategy and risk quality.

 

Salary Range

$180,000-$300,000.00 USD with performance-based bonus potential

 

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‐faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.   Primary Locations: This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including: New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes‑Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.  Primary Locations: This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including: Philadelphia, PA; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes‑Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.
