Description
San Francisco Bay Area · Full time · Hybrid with regular on-site work in Concord
$165,000–$200,000 plus equity
Technacity Group is partnering with Cytronic to hire a senior software engineer to build the platform behind its warehouse operations. You’ll work with the Head of Engineering to improve the software that tracks inventory, directs fulfillment and gets orders out the door, then connect it to the picking robots Cytronic is developing.
The work
Our platform supports orders, inventory, fulfillment and billing. Your job is to strengthen that backend, maintain the integrations our operations depend on and help connect warehouse software with robotic picking.
You’ll work directly with the people using your code on the warehouse floor. There’s room to test better approaches, see how they work in practice and keep improving them. You’ll own your changes through testing, release and production support.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain the Django backend for orders, inventory, fulfillment and billing.
- Develop and maintain integrations with ecommerce platforms, shipping carriers and our automated storage system.
- Work with the robotics team to connect the picking robots to our warehouse management system (WMS).
- Investigate production issues with the warehouse team and fix their underlying causes.
- Review code and improve development and release practices as the team grows.
What you’ll bring
- Five or more years of experience building backend systems with Django or a similar framework.
- Experience designing data models and diagnosing slow queries in PostgreSQL.
- Experience supporting your own code in production, including on-call responsibilities.
- Familiarity with Celery or another task queue, and experience working with AWS.
- Sound judgment about what to build, what to simplify and how to test it.
Useful, but not required
- Experience in logistics, warehousing or ecommerce.
- Next.js or React.
Location and schedule
You’ll need to live within commuting distance of Concord, California, for regular time with the team. This is a full-time, hybrid role, with an on-site schedule we’ll agree on during hiring. Occasional travel to our warehouses is part of the role.
Compensation is $165,000–$200,000 plus equity.
Interview process
- A 30-minute introductory call.
- A paid afternoon working on a real problem.
- A conversation with our CEO.
The process usually takes about two weeks from start to finish.
