The Senior Analyst, Quality Assurance (QA) Products is responsible for executing and supporting QA activities across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations enhancements, integrations, releases, and Microsoft One Version updates. This role designs, maintains, and executes comprehensive testing strategies, including functional, system integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, and user acceptance testing, ensuring solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and operational expectations.
Working closely with the QA Manager, Product Owners, functional consultants, developers, business stakeholders, and system integration partners, the Senior Analyst helps deliver reliable, high-quality releases by identifying risks, validating business processes, and promoting continuous improvement across the testing lifecycle.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Test Planning & Execution
- Apply the established test strategy and processes across D365 F&O Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and related modules.
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional design documents to develop detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and coverage matrices.
- Execute functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, smoke, sanity, and post-deployment validation; document results and supporting evidence.
Test Automation, Tools & Data
- Create and maintain test plans, test suites, test cases, execution records, and traceability in Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Create, execute, and maintain automated regression tests using approved tools such as D365 Task Recorder, RSAT, Leapwork, Selenium, or successor platforms.
- Prepare and maintain reliable test data, validate environment readiness, and raise data or configuration issues that may affect test execution.
Integrations, Performance & Reporting
- Validate interfaces and end-to-end transactions between D365 F&O and upstream or downstream systems, including e-commerce, WMS/TMS, banking, tax, and other boundary applications.
- Support load, stress, and performance testing by preparing scenarios, executing tests, capturing results, and helping investigate bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate dashboards and status reports covering execution progress, defect trends, test coverage, risks, and release readiness.
Release Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support release validation by executing assigned test cycles and providing evidence-based quality assessments to the QA Manager.
- Identify candidates for automation, improve reusable test assets, and help reduce manual regression effort and cycle time.
- Evaluate new QA tools and AI-assisted testing capabilities through assigned proofs of concept, documenting benefits, risks, and recommendations.
Risk, Compliance & Defect Management
- Follow internal controls and quality gates for code promotion, configuration changes, and deployment approvals.
- Prepare test evidence and quality inputs for release reviews, risk assessments, Change Advisory Board meetings, and IT compliance reviews.
- Maintain traceability from requirements through test cases, defects, retesting, and deployment in support of ITGC, SOX, and audit requirements.
UAT, Defect Triage & Business Enablement
- Prepare release-readiness documentation, test summaries, and recommendations for review and approval by the QA Manager.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing workshops with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and other business stakeholders.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to QA analysts and business testers, share reusable practices, and contribute to the team's D365 testing capability.
- Lead detailed defect analysis and triage for assigned workstreams; reproduce issues, assess impact, coordinate retesting, and escalate complex risks to the QA Manager.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong working relationships across the QA team, Product Owners, functional and technical teams, business operations, and system integration partners.
- Communicate test progress, quality risks, dependencies, and defects clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage assigned priorities with sound judgement, collaborate across workstreams, and provide practical guidance to less-experienced testers.
- Partner with Product Owners, functional consultants, developers, release teams, business subject matter experts, and system integration partners.
- Provide accurate QA inputs for ERP governance and CAB forums, escalating release impacts and deployment risks through the QA Manager.
- Act as a QA liaison between delivery teams and business operations during UAT, go-live, and hypercare for assigned releases.
What You Bring:
- Strong hands-on QA experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX environments.
- Experience creating and maintaining functional test cases and automated regression assets using structured QA practices.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, D365 Task Recorder, RSAT or comparable automation tools, Lifecycle Services, and core QA tooling.
- 5–7+ years of progressive software testing or QA experience, including at least 3 years testing D365 F&O or another complex enterprise ERP platform.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Software testing certification, such as ISTQB, and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification is preferred.
- Experience supporting Microsoft One Version continuous updates, multi-entity deployments, and cross-system business processes is preferred.
Key Skills/Who You Are:
- Strong analytical discipline, attention to detail, and a practical focus on identifying release risk before production deployment.
- Ability to translate complex functional design documents (FDDs) into comprehensive, scalable test coverage matrices.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain test status, defects, and business impact to technical and non-technical audiences.
