You will troubleshoot complex equipment issues, lead engineering and commissioning activities, and partner with Utilities, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and operational performance. This role also manages small engineering projects and provides technical direction to contractors with limited oversight.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant utility and facility systems, including clean utilities, water, compressed air, steam, gases, HVAC air-handling systems, waste systems, cooling-tower water, and process glycol.
  • Troubleshoot equipment systems and associated building management system automation.
  • Lead or support the design, specification, installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
  • Develop user requirements specifications and write and execute commissioning and qualification protocols.
  • Support capital and operational-expenditure projects, including project scoping, equipment modifications, design reviews, change controls, construction support, commissioning, and validation.
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement improvements that help prevent recurrence.
  • Onboard new equipment into the computerized maintenance management system in accordance with site procedures.
  • Manage small engineering projects, schedules, risks, stakeholders, and deliverables with limited direction.
  • Direct contractors and represent Plant Engineering in discussions with internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop or update procedures supporting Engineering and Facilities equipment and systems.
  • Manage compliance activities, including change controls, deviation investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational performance.

Who you are

You are a collaborative and solutions-oriented engineer who can apply technical expertise to solve moderately complex facility and utility challenges. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, exercising sound judgment, and partnering across functions to deliver compliant, reliable, and practical engineering solutions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • At minimum, 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing facilities, plant utilities, or facility equipment systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and utility systems
  • Experience supporting equipment-related capital or operational-expenditure projects.
  • Experience with equipment commissioning, qualification, or validation activities.
  • Ability to develop technical specifications and assess equipment requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, and AutoCAD.

Preferred skills

  • Experience supporting clean utilities, HVAC, steam, waste, cooling-water, or glycol systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing user requirements specifications and commissioning or qualification protocols.
  • Experience managing engineering projects involving stakeholder coordination, risk management, scheduling, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Experience managing change controls, deviation investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering and continuous-improvement initiatives.
