Description

Fairmarkit is the #1 autonomous sourcing platform revolutionizing the way all organizations buy & sell. Fairmarkit equips procurement teams with automation, AI, and GenAI so they can source more competitively at scale. Our solutions for tail spend and strategic sourcing help innovative procurement teams reduce cycle times, drive out costs, meet ESG/Diversity targets, and provide a better stakeholder experience to internal partners and suppliers. Fairmarkit has been recognized with awards by organizations such as Gartner and IDC, and is backed by strategic investors like Notable Capital, Insight Partners, 1984.VC, and Newfund.

About the Role

Fairmarkit is looking for a Director of Content Marketing to help shape how we show up in the market and build a content engine that makes us impossible to ignore.

At the heart of this role is great storytelling. We’re looking for an exceptional writer and editor who knows how to find a strong idea, sharpen it, and turn it into something people actually want to read, share, and talk about. But creating great content is only part of the job.

You’ll think just as much about how an idea travels. Across LinkedIn, search, AI answer engines, customer stories, executive voices, video, research, and whatever channel emerges next. You’ll help establish Fairmarkit and our leaders as trusted voices in procurement while finding new ways to reach the people we care about.

You’ll also help us rethink how content gets made. AI is changing the way people discover information and the way marketing teams work. We want someone who’s excited to experiment with that shift, build smarter workflows, and figure out where AI creates leverage and where human judgment still matters most.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll write. You’ll edit. You’ll experiment. You’ll build. And you’ll work closely with Brand & Design, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, our executives, customers, and outside partners to bring great ideas to life.

What You’ll Own

Content & Thought Leadership

  • Own Fairmarkit’s content strategy across all mediums (video + written), editorial direction, and the way our brand narrative comes to life in the market.
  • Write and edit exceptional content, while helping executives and subject matter experts turn their expertise into ideas and stories people care about.
  • Put customers, original research, data, executive perspectives, and strong points of view at the center of our content strategy.
  • Create repeatable content programs that build an audience, not just fill an editorial calendar.
  • Partner closely with Brand & Design to bring ideas to life across written, visual, video, and other formats.

Social & Executive Presence

  • Own our organic social strategy, with LinkedIn playing a major role in how we engage the procurement community.
  • Help Fairmarkit’s executives and employees become authentic, active voices in the market, extending our reach well beyond the company account.
  • Build the playbooks, training, tools, and habits that make it easier for people across Fairmarkit to participate.
  • Know what makes social content work. You’ll write, test, engage, learn, and continually refine our approach based on what resonates with the audience.

SEO, AEO & Distribution

  • Own how Fairmarkit gets discovered across traditional search and the growing world of AI-powered discovery.
  • Develop our approach to SEO and AEO/GEO across Google, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Reddit, YouTube, and whatever comes next.
  • Stay curious about how buyer behavior is changing and what that means for the way we create, structure, and distribute content.
  • Be hands-on enough to do the work yourself and experienced enough to effectively lead agencies and specialized partners when we need to scale.

AI-Powered Content Operations

  • Find practical ways to use AI across research, creation, editing, repurposing, distribution, optimization, and measurement.
  • Build workflows yourself where it makes sense, and know how to define the problem and requirements when more technical support is needed.
  • Experiment constantly, keeping what genuinely makes the work better and ignoring what doesn’t.
  • Use AI to give the team more leverage without sacrificing originality, quality, or the human judgment behind great content.

We’re not looking for someone who’s simply good at prompting ChatGPT. We’re looking for someone who’s curious about how AI can fundamentally change the way a modern content team works.

Measurement & Impact

Great content should ultimately create business impact. You’ll help us understand that journey from the earliest signals all the way through pipeline and revenue.

You’ll define what we should measure, establish the right leading indicators, and help us understand whether we’re gaining attention and authority with the audiences that matter.

That could include share of voice, procurement audience engagement, executive reach, organic and AI visibility, branded search, qualified traffic, target-account engagement, content influence, and pipeline.

Most importantly, you’ll use what we learn to make the work better.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years across content marketing, editorial, social, organic growth, or related disciplines, ideally within high-growth B2B SaaS.
  • You’re an exceptional writer and editor. You know what good content sounds like and have a portfolio that proves it.
  • You’re a builder. You’re comfortable starting with a blank page, figuring things out, and creating programs and systems that didn’t exist before.
  • You understand B2B social and LinkedIn deeply, ideally with experience helping executives or employees build their own presence.
  • You know SEO and are actively thinking about how AEO/GEO changes the organic discovery landscape.
  • You’ve done more with AI than generate copy. You’ve built or implemented workflows that made marketing meaningfully better, faster, or more effective, and you can tell us exactly what you built and why.
  • You’re comfortable with data and can connect creative work to audience growth, engagement, pipeline, and business outcomes.
  • You know how to work with executives and across teams without needing a big organization underneath you to get things done.
  • Experience with enterprise audiences, procurement, finance, supply chain, or AI is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

A year from now, Fairmarkit should have a stronger, more recognizable voice in the procurement market and a content engine built around ideas people actually care about.

Our customers, data, and executives should be generating stories and perspectives that travel. Our leaders should have stronger voices on social. We should be easier to discover through both traditional search and AI. And behind the scenes, AI-enabled workflows should help us produce and distribute better work with significantly more leverage.

We’ll also have a much clearer understanding of what’s working, why it’s working, and how those early signals eventually translate into pipeline and revenue.

Ultimately, success is pretty simple: we want Fairmarkit to become a company the procurement market reads, follows, references, searches for, and talks about.

Compensation / Location

For this role you need to reside in one of the following states: California (CA), Colorado (CO), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), Maryland (MD), Massachusetts (MA), Montana (MT), New Hampshire (NH), New Jersey (NJ), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), Ohio (OH), Pennsylvania (PA), Rhode Island (RI), Texas (TX), Tennessee (TN), or Washington (WA).

The annual compensation for this role is $162,000–$225,000 (including a bonus), depending on experience and location, plus equity and benefits. This range is provided in accordance with applicable U.S. pay transparency laws. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and location. #LI-remote #LI-YM1
