Summary of position:
ProCraft Cabinetry Chicago is seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Machine Operator with experience operating edge banding machinery. The ideal candidate will understand edge banding operations, machine setup, and troubleshooting, and will be capable of operating a beam saw, CNC router, and edge banding equipment in a production environment. This position involves repetitive, short-cycle machining operations, including cutting, routing, laminating, and edge banding products to precise specifications and tight tolerances.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Abilities:
- Review work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production specifications to determine machining requirements and materials needed.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC routers, beam saws, and edge banding machines according to production requirements.
- Load, position, and secure materials properly to ensure accurate and efficient machine operation.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Operate and troubleshoot edge banding machines, ensuring proper adhesive application, edge alignment, trimming, and finishing.
- Inspect finished products and verify dimensions, accuracy, and quality according to established standards.
- Identify and resolve common machine issues, replace worn tools, and report equipment malfunctions when necessary.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records and communicate equipment issues, material needs, and production updates to supervisors and team members.
- Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow production schedules and quality standards while maintaining consistent productivity.
- Participate in training and continuously improve machine operation and troubleshooting skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 + years of CNC machining/programming experience required.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move 35-50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cabinet-making experience.
- Beam Saw, CNC router, or Edge banding experience.
Compensation:
- $20-25 per hour (Hourly, Non-Exempt).
Work Shift:
- Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM -4:30 PM. We also provide overtime weekly.
Work Type:
- Full-Time; On-Site.
