Description
Job Title: Senior Technician
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Technician to join its technical operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading advanced diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical and technical equipment while supporting the day-to-day efficiency of the workshop. This role requires a hands-on technical professional with strong troubleshooting ability, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform advanced diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and maintenance on mechanical and technical equipment.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex equipment faults and operational issues.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are completed efficiently and to company standards.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Test and inspect equipment following repairs to confirm operational performance and safety compliance.
• Lead and support Apprentice and Junior Technicians by providing guidance, coaching, and technical oversight.
• Maintain accurate repair records, service reports, and technical documentation within the company system.
• Assist in scheduling and prioritizing workshop assignments to ensure timely job completion.
• Ensure workshop tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
• Support inventory management by monitoring spare parts, workshop supplies, and tool usage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workshop environment at all times.
• Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations clearly to management and customers when required.
• Assist the sales and operations teams with technical product support and troubleshooting guidance.
• Recommend improvements to workshop processes, maintenance procedures, and equipment performance.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and provide technical support outside normal hours when necessary.
• Carry out other related duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma, certification, or formal training in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Marine Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience in a mechanical, technical servicing, or equipment maintenance role.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and technical systems.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior technical staff is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Proficiency in the use of workshop tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic systems.
• Basic to intermediate computer literacy, including service reporting systems.
• Valid driver’s license is an asset.

Working Hours
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Overtime during weekdays and occasional weekends may be required.
