Company Stage of Funding: Series B (~$60M+ raised)
Office Type: Hybrid (3 days/week in-office)
Salary: $220,000 – $250,000 + Equity
Company Description
Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed AI company building a category-defining platform at the intersection of data, search, and AI. Their product enables enterprises to understand and optimize how they appear across both traditional and AI-driven search platforms.
With strong traction, rapid revenue growth, and backing from top-tier investors, the company is scaling its engineering team to support increasingly data-intensive products. In this organization, data is not a supporting function—it is the core product experience delivered to customers.
What You Will Do
- Own and build the data pipelines that power customer-facing analytics and product features
- Design and maintain the serving layer for real-time and batch data delivery with strong guarantees on latency and accuracy
- Develop enrichment pipelines that transform raw data into structured, high-value product outputs
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to ship data-driven features end-to-end
- Architect and scale systems to handle complex, high-volume datasets
- Define best practices and foundations for the company’s data platform as an early key hire
- Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into data pipelines for enrichment, classification, and analysis
- Operate with high ownership, driving projects from concept through production
Ideal Candidate Background
- 5–10+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering with strong data focus
- Proven experience building and owning data-powered product features (not just internal analytics)
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale data pipelines
- Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Spark, Airflow, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
- Experience working with messy, high-volume datasets and building scalable solutions
- Strong product mindset with focus on end-user impact
- Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Preferred
- Experience with OLAP systems such as ClickHouse, Redshift, or similar
- Background in data-centric companies (e.g., analytics platforms, marketplaces, fintech, or search)
- Experience integrating LLMs into data workflows
- Startup or founder experience
- Strong understanding of real-time data systems and performance optimization
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary: $220,000 – $250,000
- Meaningful equity in a high-growth company
- Hybrid work environment (NYC preferred, SF also supported)
- Opportunity to shape the data platform at a critical growth stage
- Work on cutting-edge AI + data infrastructure problems
- Fast-moving hiring process with strong urgency
This is a high-impact role for engineers who want to build data systems that directly power customer-facing products in a fast-growing AI company.
