Job Description

Job Description At Motorola Solutions, everything starts with our people. As a Senior Platform Engineer on our Alta Video Backend team, you will make a defining contribution to our award-winning next-generation security solutions. You will work in a human-centered, collaborative R&D environment where your creative abilities drive real-world impact. Qualified candidates may demonstrate success through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Platform Architecture & Scaling

• Develop and scale our cloud platform across R&D and production environments utilizing Google Cloud Platform and AWS
• Drive cloud architecture development, adopting Go programming where applicable to enhance platform capabilities
• Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment processes using GitHub Workflows/Actions or Jenkins

Infrastructure Operations & Resilience

• Manage day-to-day operations across cloud and on-premises environments utilizing Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and Bash
• Champion chaos-engineering principles to build robust, resilient systems that withstand operational stress
• Maintain high standards across day 0, day 1, and day 2 operational lifecycles, balancing feature implementation with airtight testing

Security & Continuous Improvement

• Embed a security-first mindset across all platform engineering, deployment, and operational workflows
• Identify, develop, and share innovative tools and processes to refine and streamline team operations
• Collaborate dynamically with software development teams to shape and evolve our unified security solution

Basic Requirements

• Solid experience in platform engineering, systems design, or cloud infrastructure operations
• Excellent command of English

Job Requirements

Technical Expertise

• Cloud Infrastructure & Tools to manage and scale Linux, AWS, and GCP environments using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and Bash
• Security & Testing to embed a security-first mindset and establish comprehensive operational tests across the full system lifecycle
• System Resilience to apply chaos-engineering principles and optimize long-term operational health
• English Proficiency to communicate effectively, present technical solutions, and collaborate with global R&D teams

Professional Experience

• Cross-Team Collaboration to partner with software development teams in shaping scalable cloud systems
• Process Improvement to evaluate existing workflows, suggest short- and long-term improvements, and implement modern tooling
• Independent Execution to drive complex engineering projects from inception to completion

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

• Experience working within an AWS FedRAMP environment or AWS GovCloud
• Hands-on programming experience with Go
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipeline automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
