Site Traffic Management Specialist

We’re looking for an STMS – Site Traffic Management Specialist to join our Traffic Management team in Mount Wellington, Auckland. You’ll lead safe, high‑quality traffic management on our worksites and help deliver safer roads and critical infrastructure for local communities.

Mō te tūranga | About the role
This is a hands‑on, field‑based role across roading and civil projects in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland. The vibe is flat, friendly and down‑to‑earth – but when it’s time to keep people safe, we’re all in. You’ll bring TTM plans to life on site, make real‑time calls, and work side‑by‑side with leaders, engineers and TMP designers. Titles matter less than ideas and impact here.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Traffic Controllers and Shadow Drivers

• Implement TTM plans and manage safe, compliant site layouts

• Coordinate the setup, monitoring and removal of TTM

• Liaise with engineers, TMP designers, clients and the public

• Use digital tools (e.g. iPads) for plans, records and reporting

• Current STMS Cat ABC

• Class 2 licence (preferred)

• Experience in traffic management and/or civil construction (desirable)

• Strong communication skills and a safety‑first mindset

• A proactive, can‑do attitude – high expectations, low ego
