Description
**Position Summary**
Mfinite Consulting is seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor / Lead Cook to oversee meal preparation, recipe adherence, and shift coordination in support of the New Hampshire Veterans Home's dietary department. This role directly supports the daily quality of life of honorably discharged veteran residents, including residents of NHVH's life-enhanced dementia unit.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, meal prep timelines, and shift coordination
- Ensure recipe adherence and consistency of food quality and portioning
- Supervise cooks, food service workers, and dishwashing/cleaning staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure kitchen sanitation, food safety, and infection-prevention protocols (CDC/OSHA-consistent) are followed
- Communicate staffing or supply issues promptly to the Mfinite site lead and NHVH dietary management
- Step into cook, prep, or service duties as needed to maintain meal service continuity
**Requirements**
- Prior food service supervisory or lead cook experience required
- Ability to read recipes and follow written directions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push carts
- ServSafe certification strongly preferred
- Ability to work indoors and/or outdoors depending on event needs
- Reliable, on-time attendance; ability to pass all pre-service screening
**Screening & Compliance (required prior to start, per NHVH contract terms)**
- Criminal background check (National Criminal Records Check or NH Release of Criminal Record Authorization)
- BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) State Registry check
- OIG Exclusion List Screening (initial + monthly re-screening for duration of assignment)
- Conviction Disclosure Annual Attestation
- Fitness-for-duty attestation (free of known infectious disease); physical/drug test as applicable
- Review and attestation of NHVH policies and procedures (at hire and annually)
- Candidates may not be former NHVH employees without prior NHVH approval
