The Position:
The BAS Estimator is responsible for leading estimating efforts across a wide range of building systems projects. This individual will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to develop accurate, timely, and competitive proposals.

As a foundational hire in this function, the role also includes building and standardizing estimating processes, tools, and best practices. The Estimator will serve as a key resource within the organization, supporting both immediate project needs and long-term operational scalability.

Essential Functions (Other duties may be assigned):

• Develop detailed cost estimates and proposals for building automation and integrated systems projects
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents with precision
• Collaborate with sales engineers and project teams to define project scope and bid strategy
• Manage and maintain estimating tools, spreadsheets, and cost databases
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Lead the RFI process during pre-bid cycles
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walks
• Deliver accurate estimates within aggressive timelines
• Identify and implement improvements to estimating processes and workflows
• Support standardization and scalability of estimating practices

Qualifications:

• Strong technical understanding of building automation systems and related technologies
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High level of accountability and problem-solving ability
• Willingness to work in a fully in-office environment

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in BAS estimating, project management, engineering, controls, or related fields
• Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Automation Technology preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Visio is a plus
• Exposure to multiple systems (automation, lighting, energy, security) is beneficial
