Meter Technician I Pay: $19.83 per hour
Meter Technician II Pay: $20.82 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Meter Technician I
High School Graduation or equivalent required.
Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and acceptable driving record required
One year of experience with field service or equivalent related experience involving customer service.
Meter Technician II
High School Graduation or equivalent required
Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and acceptable driving record required
Experience in providing exceptional customer service
One year of experience with meter reading or equivalent related experience involving customer service
Possess or obtain a Confined Space Entry Certification within six months of employment
Possess or obtain an OSHA 10 Certification within six months of employment
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of municipal water system operations
Knowledge of safety procedures for confined space
Effective communication and customer service skills
Skilled in the safe operation of motor vehicles
Ability to accurately read and record data from meter dials
Ability to read maps and follow a prescribed route and schedule
Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and water pumps
Ability to work independently and follow direction
Ability to operate a meter reading data collection device and customer information system
