Description
Role | Turn inbound leads into customers through sales
After we get a lead, it'll be your job to turn that lead into a paying customer. This will involve you:
- Using your math background to understand each child's level and goals, and recommending the right math or coding course
- Calling parents (in English or Mandarin) and getting them excited about Strive
- Messaging and following up with customers via WhatsApp and email
- Managing a sales pipeline on Airtable and Notion
- Suggesting product ideas and changes to improve our funnel
You'll also be responsible for existing accounts, making sure they are LOVING Strive and getting them to refer additional customers:
- Building relationships with parents and finding ways that Strive can better provide value to them
- Running referral programmes
- Calling customers and asking for feedback
- Creating content that helps parents manage their child's education
- Account management: payment dates, renewals, and refunds
- Helping to manage the day-to-day schedules of teachers and students, and customer accounts
You'll also teach and help grow our brand:
- Teaching at least one math class per week, so you can speak to parents as both a teacher and an advisor
- Creating content for parents in English and Chinese, such as posts for Mandarin-speaking parent communities
- Supporting marketing and growth campaigns and events (social media, copywriting, simple design, project management)
Requirements | You love building relationships with people, are persuasive over the phone, and have a strong math background
- Former teachers and career-switchers warmly welcome
- You're a fun and confident English and Mandarin speaker who is energised by speaking to and converting customers
- Excellent English and conversational Mandarin, and able to read and write simple Chinese (help from translation tools is fine). Many of the families we serve prefer to speak Mandarin.
- A strong math background. You're confident explaining math concepts to parents and students.
- Available to work Singapore hours (GMT+8), mainly weekday evenings and weekends
- You're an excellent listener
- You're organised with high attention to detail: you'll be managing dozens of new leads and dozens of existing accounts
- You have a strong ability to get points across concisely and persuasively (in writing and verbally)
- Positive and learning mindset, even in the face of rejection, setbacks, or challenges
- Adaptable to changes in the fast-paced environment of a startup
- Patience and persistence
- You're passionate about education and empowering students
Bonus
- Tech-savvy (coding experience is a plus!)
- You've done sales where parents are the customers in the past
- Math teaching or tutoring experience, even part-time or while you were studying
- Familiar with math curricula such as the Singapore MOE syllabus (PSLE, O-Levels), Singapore Math, IB or IGCSE
- Marketing and growth skills, such as design, copywriting or social media
- Able to create Chinese-language content for parent communities
- You're entrepreneurial, i.e. you've started your own startup or side hustle in the past
