Watertown Municipal Utilities is seeking a motivated Utility Electrical Engineer to help plan, design, and support the electric systems that power our community. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving electric transmission, distribution, substations, metering, SCADA systems, and overall system reliability for more than 12,000 utility customers.

What You'll Do
As a Utility Electrical Engineer, you will:
- Design and prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for electric utility infrastructure projects.
- Perform power system studies including load flow, fault current, reliability, and capacity analyses.
- Support transmission, distribution, substation, metering, communications, and SCADA systems.
- Coordinate projects with contractors, consultants, developers, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
- Assist with electric system planning, asset replacement programs, and reliability initiatives.
- Support utility operations by providing technical analysis, troubleshooting, and engineering guidance.
- Assist with NERC compliance activities and other regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continued safety, reliability, and resiliency of the utility system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Two or more years of utility experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferred.
- Knowledge of electric transmission, distribution, substations, protective relaying, SCADA, and metering systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD and power system modeling software such as Milsoft.
- Familiarity with NERC reliability standards and utility compliance programs.
