Your Typical Shift
Your day as a Mechanic Apprentice starts by checking in with the lead mechanic and reviewing the work plan. You'll spend your early training on a lube truck, learning how to service and maintain the heavy equipment and diesel trucks in our fleet. You'll get hands-on experience with inspections, routine service, parts, tools, and safety procedures while asking questions and working under guidance. As you gain experience, you'll move into the shop to learn troubleshooting and more advanced repairs. Throughout the day, you'll keep notes, help keep the work area organized, and prepare equipment and materials for the next job.
