Position Overview
The Facility Technician Level II is a skilled facility operations professional responsible for supporting facility management activities across assigned data center facilities. This role performs maintenance, conducts facility inspections, supports customer requests, coordinates service providers, and helps maintain the operational readiness of assigned buildings and customer-facing spaces.
Working under the direction of the Facility Manager and alongside other Facility Technicians, the Facility Technician Level II performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities for common areas, office spaces, exterior grounds, building systems, and customer support areas. This individual assists in coordinating maintenance activities, supports vendor work execution, identifies facility issues, and helps facilitate corrective actions to maintain a safe, reliable, and professional environment.
This role requires an understanding of building systems, maintenance practices, vendor coordination, customer support, and facility operations, along with the ability to safely execute maintenance and repair activities without disrupting customer operations. Essential Job Functions
Work under moderate supervision, both independently and within a team environment.
Perform facility maintenance, inspections, and repair activities across assigned buildings and campus infrastructure.
Assist with managing maintenance tasks, minor projects, and facility improvement initiatives.
Respond to operational issues, safety concerns, and emergency situations while maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Recommend improvements to maintenance processes and facility operations.
Coordinate activities with vendors and service providers while ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with company standards.
Frequently interact with customers, contractors, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
Support operational readiness, customer satisfaction, and facility performance objectives.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and customer service.
Duties
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems and facility infrastructure.
Conduct facility inspections of common areas, office spaces, customer-facing areas, exterior grounds, and support spaces.
Identify maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, and facility issues and initiate corrective actions.
Support customer requests, move-ins, expansions, equipment installations, and other facility-related activities.
Coordinate and monitor vendor activities to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with site requirements.
Execute work orders and maintenance activities through the CMMS platform.
Assist with warranty repairs, facility improvement projects, and operational support activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service documentation.
Assist with developing facility procedures, inspection checklists, and maintenance programs.
Support emergency response activities involving building systems and facility infrastructure.
Participate in operational readiness inspections and housekeeping initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and customer service.
Additional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years, 3+ years preferred, experience in facilities maintenance, commercial building operations, industrial maintenance, mission critical facilities, data centers, or related environments.
Working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, building automation systems, and general building infrastructure.
Data center or mission critical environment experience preferred.
Technical certification, trade certification, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Ability to read and interpret building drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
Working knowledge of facility maintenance best practices and safety requirements.
Experience coordinating with vendors and service providers.
Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance management processes.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Organizational and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.
Must successfully complete a background check.
Reliable transportation for reporting to work during normal operations and emergencies.
Travel is expected to be less than 5%, occasionally for training purposes.
Physical activities and requirements

Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Raised access floor work. Must be able to maneuver and work underneath and around raised access floor of varying heights
Physical Working Conditions
The position is subject to extreme cold and extreme heat. Activities occur inside and outside.
The position is subject to noise such as vibration and high volume of air movement
The position is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
Additional Details
Typical Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support
