Retail Customer Service, Apparel & Uniform Fitting
Openwork is hiring an experienced Uniform Retail Clerk for an established public-safety uniform supplier in Southeast Houston, TX.
This customer-facing position focuses on providing excellent retail customer service, assisting customers with uniform selections, maintaining inventory, and supporting apparel sizing and fitting.
Qualified candidates must have at least 2 years of direct retail or face-to-face customer service experience, strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail. Previous apparel measuring or fitting experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates who are willing to learn.
Position Details:
- Location: Southeast Houston, TX
- Pay: $17/hr | Weekly Pay
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (one weekday off)
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Sunday: Off
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Employment: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Assist customers with uniform selections, sizing, and fitting.
- Learn to take accurate clothing measurements for uniforms.
- Answer questions about uniforms, apparel, and accessories.
- Process purchases, returns, exchanges, and special orders.
- Receive, tag, stock, and organize merchandise.
- Prepare customer orders and verify product accuracy.
- Assist with inventory counts and merchandise tracking.
- Inspect uniforms and apparel for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of direct retail or face-to-face customer service experience required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable assisting customers with clothing selections and sizing.
- Willingness to learn apparel measuring and uniform fitting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) skills.
- Ability to multitask in a customer-facing retail environment.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Previous apparel measuring or fitting experience preferred.
Preferred Experience.
- Uniform sales or specialty apparel retail.
- Customer measuring, apparel sizing, or uniform fitting.
- Tailoring or clothing alterations.
- Men's clothing or other apparel retail.
- Retail inventory management and special orders.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Customer-facing retail showroom.
- Regular interaction with customers and coworkers.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and organize merchandise.
- Attention to detail when assisting with apparel sizing and fitting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
- Availability to work the assigned weekday and Saturday schedule.
